Are you looking for a new outdoor activity? Archery is a great pass time to consider, Wigan and Orrell Archers offer a six week beginners course to help get you started, the outdoor season is now well under way and is a great time to make that start, enjoying the great outdoors with a fantastic sport for all ages and ability, during the six week course our trained coaches will guide you every step of the way, all equipment you need is supplied during the course and advise on the purchase of your own equipment will be given towards the end, 
We have a thriving junior squad who shoot regularly and also compete in competition around the area, some of them are shooting for Lancashire archery association representing the county.
We can cater for all disaplines i.e. recurve longbow and compound, these can all be tried during the course to see what your preference will be.
There are various ways of getting into competition if you wish too, target archery which is our main discipline we shoot, for example a target of 120cm diameter at set distances outdoors from 30 meters to 90 meters for metric rounds and 10 yards to 100 yards for imperial rounds, A competition round will consist of a set number of arrows at a set distance, some examples in the chart below.
